My partner and I want to make a trip here fairly soon, maybe over but more likely just after the holiday. Our usual haunt is Slimbridge which we're about 1.5 hrs away from but we thought we ought to try to visit somewhere else. Llanelli is our next nearest at about double the distance so we need to stay in the area for a couple of nights to get a whole day there. Anyone know the WWT reserve who can give us an idea of what we're likely to see there in winter and which are the most worthwhile hides etc so we can make best use of the day? For example, because Slimbridge is on a tidal river we're familiar with how some of the birds move from river to reserve with the tide, and with how the light plays across the different areas of the reserve throughout the day. We know we'll see a lot of the birds we see at Slimbridge but that's okay. We're not twitchers - we just enjoy watching (and in my case photographing) bird behaviour and interaction.
