Bought a Mitzuki lens off ebay, stupidly forgot to check which mount it was. It says, "C/FD" assumed it was Canon FD mount. Sent off for an adapter FD/FX.
Can't get the lens to fit on the adapter. Am I not lining it up correctly? Tried all ways. And the blades appear to be stuck. £6.80 down the drain.

@Retune Managed it. You have to line up a green circle on the lens with the two red markers. Aperture blades aren't working but I'll see what sort of aperture it's stuck at in the morning.

A few photos of what you have might help.

Lots of C/FD lenses could lock the aperture closed by pushing the stop down lever over a light detent. Wondering if that's the case here?

I'll have a look in the morning and send a few images through. Cheers.

Tried a few shots this morning and it looks as though it's stuck at f2.8. For £6.80, it might be an idea just to shoot at that aperture and leave it at that.

Does your adapter have a ring to unlock the aperture control like the one mentioned in the dpreview thread?

That looks like it should fit this pin 1647631948833.png should fit in this slot 1647631978100.png

This button 1647632013431.png should be pressed in automatically as you mount the lens to unlock the mounting ring and enable it to rotate to mount on the adaptor (or camera body).

This is the aperture stop down lever 1647632153945.png and when in this position the aperture will remain open irrespective of the aperture setting on the lens.

If you want to check the aperture operation use something to depress this button 1647632296949.png and turn the mounting ring, this will enable the aperture to work as you move this lever 1647632336965.png to the other end of its slot

Looks as though it IS faulty. Thanks @Willid1 for all the detail above. Not sure if top send it off to Stauart Hale to fix or find another example. Maybe a Canon FD 28mm?
