I want a thin but strong wrist strap to attach to my Fuji X100V. At the moment I'm using quite a thick strap (Op/tec) but I really only need one for a compact camera. Unfortunately the choice is bewildering and range from cheap to not-very-expensive but the price is irrelevant, I just want to be sure it will hold a premium compact without looking like a goths wrist band. The camera isn't going to be hanging by the strap, it's just for security in the event I let go of it. Anyone have any experience of thinnish wrist straps?

I use a Peak Design Cuff, it has saved a 5kg set up from crashing to the floor :LOL:
I like the quick release and the magnet in the cuff is handy as you can were it like a band.
Worn lose you hardly notice it, but it catches you if you let go ;)

May not be as thin as your after but thought I'd mention it :)

I use peak design anchor links with a cord strap bought from somewhere, pretty sure all the peak design straps have some metal on which may scratch camera.

The problem I have, and I don't think I said what I meant in the OP, is that I use either a Black Rabbit Breathe or a Peak Design Capture Clip for actually carrying the camera but I have a wrist strap attached to the camera as well, especially when using the Capture Clip as once out of the clip it's no longer secure. While I am walking around with the camera held by either harness, the wrist strap flaps around all over the place, bashing into my leg or the camera because it is so big and fat so what I am after is something like this Wrist lanyard but made by a reputable company rather than some unknown Chinese jobby and therefore likely to hold the camera in the unlikely event everything else fails.

I must stress this is only for the X100V as it is much lighter than my DSLR with its massive lenses, for that I use a much stronger wrist strap.

I have used "bank line" a sort of thin paracord, not on cameras but other gear, it's really thin, and I'm using a 125lb test so it's pretty strong, I doubt a camera would worry it.

I must have half a dozen of one sort and another but prefer a loop of paracord

I know you're sorted now. I went down the Cordweaver route too but went for this one https://www.cordweaver.co.uk/product-page/cordy-classic-with-peak-design-anchor-link . Got buttons for a few cameras so can move it from compacts to SLR of mirrorless and be confident that it'll be comfortable!

I don't need transferability, this is only for the X100V, my D810 hangs off something considerably more substantial as when I combine that with my 80-400mm...well, you can imagine what that weighs.

The bigger cameras will have 2 buttons and the OpTech neck strap will have the receivers as well as the one on the wrist strap. I've tested the PD button system to a bit over 110kg without any creaks and if it'll hold my weight, I'm sure it's OK for any of my kit!

I now have two of these, the slim wrist strap. I have also just bought the thicker neck strap, I did add some extra clips to this, to make it quicker to remove
