Hi Guys

I was wondering whether anyone would be interested in putting an article together about basic photography and lighting instructions for an online Teddy bear showcase site www.bear-artists-online.com The article is aimed at the teddy bear artist members and readers of the site, the site also receives a lot of magazine coverage too. There is no payment available but you would receive recognition for the article and links to your website if you have one.

Also at the moment a new teddy bear making forum is being set up and it may be that we decide to have a photography section on there in the future where members can ask for advice etc, so there may be a place for a moderator there is who willing to give out advice on photography and editing

If anyone is interested please do contact me for more information

Thank you so much for your time
Lots of love

Come on then - any takers?

Just a word of caution Melanie, in case you don't get any responses. ;)

What you're actually asking for is a quite massive undertaking amounting to a book on basic photography, and there are loads of good ones on the market. Even answering the quite specific questions we get here sometimes can be quite time consuming. Matters are complicated even more so these days as digital photography goes hand in hand with digital processing which is another book in it's own right.

You're more than welcome to refer people here for specific advice from members and to use the many basic tutorials in our Tutorials Section, but by far the best way to grasp the basics is to get a good book on basic photography...local libraries are often a good source of books.

I hope you don't think I'm fobbing you off Melanie - good luck with your site and don't hesitate to ask here for any advice you need. :)

No I don’t think you are trying to fob me off at all. Many new artists have not got a clue about photography, it took me ages to sort myself out and I know I still need to improve. What I am looking for is an article of about 1500 -2000 words which will basically give advice on what and why good camera equipment is important to the work artists (teddy bear makers) are trying to sell. Possibly with recommendations on cameras, easy to use lighting equipment such as lighting tents, editing programmes and recommended books. I would like the article to give basic advice.

Although I do write articles for artist features I know what I am asking is a huge undertaking and that’s why I came here as it is beyond me, by the way there is no rush should anyone change their mind or if you have time to spare in the future please do contact me

love
MJ
