Hi all.
I got a Nikon D80 with a 18-135 and a sigma 70-300 a few months ago, and so far I think I know how to use about 10% of what it can do.
I've been impressed by the friendliness of the people on this site, the skill and knowledge displayed, and of course the quality of the photographs.
I look forward with some trepidation to your comments when I have gathered the nerve, and worked out how to, post my snaps.

I'm new to TP myself and just like you i've found the members to be a pretty friendly bunch. I also have a Nikon D80 with the Kit lens & a 200mm VR Nikon telephoto in my bag. Again, like you, i'm working my way through the things my camera can do, and by trial and error i manage to take one or two acceptable shots. I've found by going onto Galleries and looking at some of the other guys albums ( a thing i never get tired of doing ), and whatsmore creating my own albums and putting in images for others to see and offer constructive critisism has increased my interest, enjoyment and photographic knowledge a good deal more. I'm sure we'll both enjoy ourselves over the forthcoming months/years with our hobby, and i wish you good luck and plenty of fun.
