Yes
I'm working on this themed set for a musical instrument repair business. Nothing's carved in stone yet, they're just basic ideas.

Quite fun actually and a change from the usual dross. :)

I like the clarinet, flute, and especially the Mona Lisa shots, but I'm not too keen on the sax one I'm afraid. I think it looks too easily done (Think Monty Python esque...)

I do like the idea though

I know what you mean. I quite like that one, but the biggest problem with it is that sax really needs a shadow to match the direction of the light, and that's one of the hardest things to do convincingly. I think I might have to find a different shadowless background. ;)

Something like this?

All you need to do is duplicate the layer, erase everything except the sax,
Replace colour tool to change it to a dark shade, then flip it and skew to get the right angle.

There maybe other ways using masks, but i haven't mastered them yet.

Great idea mate

Ooh.. noble effort Matt. Still not quite there though. If you look at the shadow in that little crater, you can still see white flecks of sand and it's that look which needs to be duplicated to look convincing. Good idea with your method though. I've been buggering about with it for an hour this morning, but I've found a couple of similar shots with more overhead light, so I think I'll make life easier and go with one of them. :D
