Wordpress blog "Block" Editor

I didn't like it either, you can disable it and revert to the old 'classic' editor.

Thanks for that, Gramps. Unfortunately plug-ins don't work with the free wordpress.com, only with one of the paid versions. :(

As already mentioned above, you can revert to the classic editor. I also found the new block editor to be a pain.
I have not used Wordpress in ages, not many people seem to read them anymore.

That requires a plug-in and you need to have a paid plan to use plug-ins. Short and curlies?

I am sure the last time I used the free one, I was able to change the editor, maybe it has changed.

The way Wordpress.com is now, it is too clunky I think.

There is another way to disable the block editor (apparently) but it involves fiddling with code somewhere. I'm not sure I'm up to that........ :help:

In all their blurb they claim that the shiny new block editor is the greatest thing sliced bread but in my experience its just junk.

You can't normally access the css pages, to prevent spreading viruses etc.

I initially hated it, but found it was wortwhile to knuckle down and lear how to use it.
Eventually, I decided it was more versatile and a definite improvement - you just have to get your head around a different way of doing things.

+ It is better, when you get the idea
- The learning curve is not gentle - expecially if you just want to get on with posting.
