Bit of a novice at wordpress but I've set up and customised my daughters blog with a bit of work and happy to tr things. Next plan is that I have a family domain where the 4 of us have email addresses. I'd like to take a step forward with this and have the domain name act as a private web site where I can host family calendars for all 4 of us.

I'd like to integrate this with tablets and phones (iphone/ ipad/ android) to allow changes to bereflected in the calendar website and changes also to be made from the website for individuals.

I expect that I'll need a set of 4 calendars somewhere but not sure if that's 4 google app calendars or whether some wordpress plug in can provide calendars that the devices can sync with?

I've had a quick scout on the web and business team calendars seem a bit overkill and I'd appreciate any suggestions from anyone who has actually done this or knows how to approach this.

I'll be interested to find out if someone comes up with some clever idea for this. I've never come across the way you imagine it.

In my understanding you'll need an open standards CalDav/iCal server. However Wordpress doesn't provide that. And Android devices don't have CalDav client protocol for their applications unless you buy specific apps.

I'd just use iCloud (CalDav) or Google calendaring. Or alternatively get an office365 account, mine comes with five licences and an exchange server. Have you domain pointed to that and off you go.

Anyway lots of options, never come across a Wordpress based on though.

Personally I would set up 4 shared google calendars as those are easy to sync with tablets/phones. Then you can use the wordpress site to display the google calendars - although I'm not sure why you'd do that rather than just logging on to google calendars website.
