We have Radio 2 on all day at work and i can stomach Terry Wogan's natter and witty inuendo's even stealing the word TOG (Terry's Old Geezer's) but i wish it was the most irritating DJ Ken Bruce to leave. I'm sick of his condescending tone to the pop master contestants and bad jokes that he reads out in the most unfunniest of ways :nono: and his whining and downright childishness banter with that welsh wanabee :shake:

Anyone else get my drift, lol
 
I disagree! Ken should take over from Terry, not that incessantly cheerful ginger chappie.

I gave up listening to Radio 2 when JY retired and Steve Wright moved there from R1. I mean, come on... Whatever next :shrug: :lol:

I agree, Ken Bruce and his whiny voice really gets on my tits.
 
Only have radio 2 on because of the nationwide traffic updates, think we should have more of Lyn and Sally , put Sara Kennedy out to grass and ask for Steve Wright...
as soon as his show starts he`s telling us what he`s eating, with the few hours he works he should find time without irritating us, when he`s not eating he`s trying to sing over all the records he plays :nuts:
 
Yep 'tis a shame that Terry is leaving
although Chris Evans is slightly more tolerable these days,
than he was a few years ago.
As for him doing the breakfast show?
I am prepared to give it a listen, there is always the local station to tune to,
if he gets on me baps too much.
I certainly couldn't stomach Wrighty in the morning though

I can't stomach Wrighty even at 3:30pm!

I have been enjoying Chris Evans' drive time show, much to my surprise (hated him in the past), so am hoping his new breakfast show will be good. I will be sorry to no longer hear Sarah Kennedy's showtunes, as that is on within a few mins of me getting in my car of a morning, but things change!!

I thought Wogan was actually retiring properly and only being wheeled out for Children in Need, but he is going to be doing a Sunday show on radio 2 sometime in the new year.

Jeremy Vines should be the one to go. His voise is like someone running fingernails down a blackboard.

I do look forward to 2pm in the afternoon though but you're wright er...right he does ass lick every guest that comes on in the smallish interviews, me and a workmate laugh about this, "oh your so great" & "yeah i always thought you were the best" :razz: :lol:
The 70's stuff is great to listen to especialy the disco stuff like pointer sisters, imagination etc.

The format of Wrightys afternoon show is good and I generally enjoy it, but he can be condescending to guests and worse he seems to have no respect sometimes for other presenters (e.g. talking over Sally traffic).

Chris Evans has grown up and matured a lot over the years and he'll make a good morning presenter. He does seem to go too far the opposite way though, nicey nicey all the time can be annoying.
 
Radio 2 needs less Wogan, Vine, Wright and Evans. More Walker, Alinson and Lamarr.

I still miss Mark and Lard In The Afternoon Show on Radio 1. Now that was the golden age of the radio as it kept me going as I listened to them while I slaved away picking tomatoes in a hot greenhouse.
At work, one of us have placed an old crackly radio in the middle of the work area and then after making sure it's tuned to Radio 2 to the best of it's ability (it's one of those old-type manual wheel tuner) and then whack the volume up to a point where the sound coming out of it's rubbish little speaker is all distorted.
With Wogan, Vine and Wright coming out of such a radio, it won't be very long before I pick up that thing and drop kick it halfway across the greenhouses.
Thank God it's only a temporary thing as that worker goes back to working on his own tomato plot in a seperate greenhouse after Christmas.

Well said that man, with the run up to christmas I was thinking about the chart forecast they used to do on a friday afternoon with the posh radio 4 lady. Comedy genius.
