Anyone know of a safe free download to convert WMA to MP3.

Thanks for the link Kodiak. I have downloaded the zip software, extracted it, but cannot see how to unload it, any ideas please...

EDIT, OPPS! just noticed its not compatible with Wins 7...

I've been using this since years… on my MACs.
Sorry for the false hopes! …but you said nothing of windows in the OP.
 
Just out of interest why the convert?
WMA is better for quality than MP3
 
I use cdex but have not updated it for a while.
 
James, I have Audacity, but don't think it has a converter on, it won't load the WMA file.

Paul, On this occassion I want to send an unimportant recording to a friend via email, before sending I want to crop out some of the unwanted sound.
If I could get the WMA file transferred to MP3 I could then use Audacity to crop.

Kev,, Have you a link or I might as well google cdex.

There is a few downloads out there but so many of them have hidden programs..
 
I use a small program called Jodix

It is very simple and easy to use.

It can sometimes be a bit temperamental on starting but just click try again a few times and it will start up

Any programm that's FFmpeg based will convert it. (And just about any other audio or video codec/container combo)

FFmpeg is commandline based, but there are hundreds of GUIs out there. Handbrake is the most common.
