Hi, just after a bit of clarification...

my first flash unit was yongnuo flash (the cheap ones for about £30 from flashinthepan) and knowing it was manual control i purchased the pt-04 wireless tx and rx and it works as it should.

I then got a canon 350D and so i purchased a speedlite 430EX. And as i now have 2 flashes, i would like to have a go at simple studio work, and i so i have a difuser (also from FITP) and a background support ETC and having 2 flashunits i would like to trigger them wirelessly both off camera?

So, my questions...

Is the pt04 ok for use with the speedlite 430ex (dont want to damage it)

Would i benefit from buying the RF-602 for speedlite? I for some reason think i will but dont really know how or why?

Hope one of you can decode what im trying to find out and advise me lol.
Thanks
Andy

You could just get a little optical slave which would fire the flash when the other one goes off. That's the cheapest way of doing to be fair. As long as your justing using your flashes inside then it'll be fine, outside it'll be better to get another eBay slave.

As far as I know they is no issue with them and the Canon flashes, otherwise have a look on Flickr as there are quite a lot of topics on this subject

Hope that helps you out

Hi, thanks for reply, when you say optical slave, are you refering to triggering one flash by anothers flash? As the yongnuo one has this built in, so i could have my canon 430ex off camera using the pt04 and then the yongnou flash also off camera be triggered by the canons flash?

Aslong as the pt04 works ok with the 430ex, also i presume theres no ETTL with the pt04 so i have to manually set the speedlite?

thanks
Andy

Yeah set all the flashes manually as that way you have more control over settings.

If that flash has a built in one then just use the slave on the other flash then it should be all good. Hope that all works out for you
