Hi there, i like to shoot with a single studio flash head via pc sync lead from my camera, ive also got a flashgun that can be worked in slave mode and it gets picked up by the main flash - i use this combination regularly with the flashgun as a rear/back/hair light. all works well. however occasionally(often!) ill need the flashgun in a position where it cant be 'seen' by the main flash and so is hit or miss whether it fires, so im looking for a more reliable way i can fine it.

im looking for the cheapest way i can use it, its not a flashgun id ever wamt to use off camera by itself (its an automatic one and i make do with various levels of diffussion to tone it down) so an expensive wireless trigger system would be a waste.

what would be my options? could i use cheap a ebay trigger as well as my pc sync lead, or will my camera get confused at using both hotshoe and pc sync?

thanks

I've just ordered some CTR-301p wireless triggers (about £14 from DealExtreme) to go with a Yongnuo manual flashgun for experimenting. The CTR-301p triggers seem to get pretty positive reviews, although obviously they will take a while to arrive from HK so I can't give any feedback with my experiences yet.

I have had the CTR triggers since the first batch (without the PC socket) and cannot fault them at all. For cheapies, they are built well, have a good range (around 100ft), are low in profile so easy to carry, they have never misfired, not once, and best of all they can take a knock or two. I would highly recommend them if you don't want to spend a fortune. Darren:thumbs:
