Unless you're after the voice control I'd stay clear of the Echo, Google Home and the Apple Homepod.

I've not heard an UE speakers before, but I rate Sonos and Bose as exceptionally good!
 
We have a JBL charge 3 in the kids gaming room ( the place where they play on the ps4 with 50" TV, soundbar etc away from us ) and my 14 year old says its great. Pretty loud, good sound quality, good range, I think it's £120 ish

Have looked at this. I have some of their wireless ear buds (like Beats) and very impressed.
 
The UE stuff is meant to be good however I was pretty astonished when I heard the bose soundlink 2 but looks like they have been replaced.
 
I know its a little more than you were thinking of spending but the original non voice activated Sonos Play 1 are down to £149 all over the place now the Alexa compatible One is out. I have a Play 1 and I like it a lot.

Not considering Sonos as want it to be portable as will use in various rooms, whereas Sonos is mains powered.
 
Mrs Nod has just bought a pair of the UE Roll2 speakers - she wants/needs one at each end of her Yoga studio so the background music can be heard all over without being too loud, Sound quality isn't what I'd call Hi-Fi but is plenty good enough to be listenable. The fact that it's possible to link 2 to the same source was the biggest selling point.

The Sonos does need mains, but that just means you need a free mains socket in the room you movie it to.

We have 4 Play 1's around the house (we're on 3 floors), and will just unplug one and plug it in where we want it if we need to change the configuration. They pick up the wireless signal in under a minute, then you're good to go again.

Since we've a (waterproof) socket in the garden we can take one outside if we want - all they need is mains and wi-fi.

I even took all 4 of them, and an old wireless router, to a hall we hired for my god-daughters birthday party. Plugged the router in, it created the wi-fi network for the Sonnos and my tablet (it had the same SSID & IP Range as my home network), and in a couple of minutes I had speakers in the 4 corners all in synch - easy :)

But just setting them up at home (assuming you have Wi-Fi and a PC or tablet) is fairly simple.

1) Plug in, and wait for the light to stop flashing
2) Run the app - it will take you through setup.
3) Enjoy :)

Once configured, they remember their setup, even if unplugged (I don't know how long for, but certainly several hours), so you can move them, plug them in again and then just use them.
