I have a Nikon D40 DSLR and 2 flashguns - both from Jessops - 300AFD and 360AFD. I have bought some cheapo wireless triggers off fleabay - got 1 transmitter (for the camera) and 2 receivers (for each flashgun). Have charged all the batteries etc but for some reason only the 300AFD will fire everytime when i press the test button on top of the transmitter - the 360AFD wont.

I have swapped the receivers to check one wasnt faulty - but they both work with the 300AFD. Also on the 360AFD flashgun the light comes on to acknowledge the trigger but it doesnt fire the flash. The 360AFD works fine as it works when on the camera's hotshoe so no fault with that.

The main difference between the 2 flashguns is that the 360AFD has a screen on the back (the 300AFD just has on/off switch). So i am wondering whether it needs to be on a particular setting to work - its currently on ttl.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would have both of the flashes set to manual as TTL will not function when using the triggers, you are going to have to do everything in manual.

Also check to see if there is a Master/slave/remote setting on the gun that you may have to activate.

Manual time :)

The 300 AFD doesn't have a manual mode, so it isn't really suitable for remote flash unless you can position it appropriately. It will fire at 100%.
