I use a BTHUB3 router to connect to broadband.
I only connect wirelessly, never use a wired CAT5 cable.
My tower system unit in the next room uses a Belkin N Wireless USB Network adaptor in a front USB port to connect. The system runs Windows XP service pack 3.
The problem.
The tower will arbitrarily drop the connection. Sometimes it will work for days without issue. At other times it will lose the connection, then reconnect a short while later. At times it will not connect at all, when it does this, rebooting the router resolves the problem, temporarily, the cycle then repeats.
When there is no connection, without rebooting the router, in the same room...
My laptop will connect and stay connected every time.
My Kindle will connect and stay connected every time.
Initially, when the hub and dongle were first paired, the connection worked flawlessly for months without incident.
I'm thinking it can't be the router - as above.
I'm wondering if it's borderline signal strength or something else...
Thoughts and observations warmly welcomed
