Winzip interferes with Lightroom 5.7?

I recently installed winzip, briefly, and now have issues after using the brush in lightroom - resizing image views becomes really slow and LR stops responding, even becoming difficult to close. Task manager shows close to 100% CPU utilisation and the fans run up & down in sync with usage. I'd not realised winzip had become malware, trying to control other parts of windows, and while it was only installed briefly before being removed it seems to have left something unpleasant behind.

Any idea how to fix this, other than clean reinstallation (a likely operation soon anyway - moving again from W8.1 to W10)?

… get a MAC, Toni!

Run CCleaner & Malwarebytes ... it may just have left some garbage behind :)

More likely something installed with the winzip as mines is still fine with 5.7.

I suspect the installer probably installed some crap, check in add remove programs and as said get malware bytes on the job.
I have seen mvafee AV scan being packaged up in certain installers and with a little tick box that is hard to spot in the click next generation we live in.

I'll give it a go - thanks.

Seems much more responsive now, thanks.

It may not be related but there was/is a memory leak in some versions of LR that this was a workaround for.
Unlikely to be related to WinZip unless you've downloaded a version bundled with malware.
Worth a quick scan with malware bytes anyway!
