I wandered along to the Winter Lights festival at Canary Wharf yesterday. Not a good move for a Saturday - the place was jammed. Seemed to be the evening for "take the kids out" and it was tricky photographing some of the pieces because of the crowds.
I thought the exhibits varied from "Ho Hum" to "Quite interesting." Here are a few that I quite liked.
If you are going along make sure you get a map - some are located in quite obscure places.Winter Lights_05.jpgWinter Lights_08.jpgWinter Lights_11.jpgWinter Lights_16.jpg
This last one is pretty neat. Its called "Constellations" and is a fan shaped spray of water with abstract images back projected onto it. Constantly varying with a musical accompaniment.

Nice set.
I went 3 years ago. Was busy not not packed. I think word has spread how good it is and everyone goes now.

Being featured on the BBC probably didn't help either!

I wasn't particularly impressed, but on the other hand I didn't really know what to expect.

I work here, so had a wander with the camera. Will post up some links when I have enough non-spam posts to do so. Very much a beginner, so it's fun learning about all this stuff.

The fountain lights offered about the best opportunity
