Hi all

I use MS Photos in Windows to go through my photos to delete unwanted images prior to editing. It was quick and easy as I was able to delete blocks of photos where needed or jut go back to the folder and move wanted photos then move on to the next.

Since a recent update, Photos has started doing some sort of automatic edit to the images giving a false impression, often overexposing the image, rendering them useless to make decisions on, especially night photos. I have looked to see if this can be disabled in settings but I cannot find any way of achieving this. I've Googled the issue and although others have had the same problem I've been unable to find any answers, other than going into Windows Power Shell and putting a new command line in, which doesn't work. There used to be a couple of photo viewing apps on Windows, but they seem to have gone and I've been unable to find any suitable alternatives.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so, have they found a way to stop the automatic editing?
Can anyone recommend an alternative photo viewer without having to resort to using an editing programme?

Many thanks
Steve.

Try settings-apps-default apps-photo viewer then you can choose your default viewer
I use the older Windows Photo Viewer

I use Nikon NX Studio, free download, to cull images and move them between folders. You can do editing with it but I just use it for viewing and culling.
As it is a Nikon product it applies all the camera settings automatically
The latest version is a bit slow to load on my oldish PC but once running it is fast enough.
