Hi guys, I know there's some knowledgeable people on here, so worth asking the following:- I have a Medion i5 Windows 8 laptop with 8GB RAM and a few weeks ago, my USB 3.0 ports stopped working. I have tried searching for new drivers but to no avail.

Any suggestions please?

Cheers! Mark

PS. I have two USB 3.0 ports on the laptop and neither work now and the only USB 3.0 device I use is a card reader. The firmware is up to date on that.

It sometimes works to uninstall the device (USBs do count as a device) then restart.
Windows finds the new device, finds drivers and installs them.
But. If it can't find drivers anyway this is unlikely to work.
I don't think you'd be any worse off for trying though.

In device manager try to find the name of the not-working device which I would expect to have a yellow triangle by it.
Google this + drivers and see what turns up.
If drivers for seven or vista show up I wouldn't be surprised if they work.
You can download and install manually, usually just double click and they install themselves when downloaded.

Since two separate ports have stopped it seems unlikely a real physical issue is to blame - such as biscuit crumb insertion ...
