I own a Lexar USB 3.0 reader but it has issues with windows 8, Lexar have no plans to issue a firmware update so im on the lookout for a compatible one, anyone know of one

This is just a thought, but I got an incompatable IDE card to work by loading the drivers directly instead of using the installer.

Just a thought, are USB3 card readers really faster than USB2 as the cards you put in them are the same as they always were?

I have the SD/CF version of this reader and when I bought it did so for an XP lappy. I've since upgraded to a Win8 Notebook but not yet tried the reader in that - the cameras I've used since the Notebook purchase are all SD and the NB has a built-in SD reader. I'm hoping that the reader works OK on Win8 for when I start using the DSLR more but if not, I'll have to wait until I get home!
