Anyone bought windows 7 from software for students?

What do you actually get? The retail pack includes both 64 and 32 bit disks for full install.

My Dad is doing a computer course through the local college and is elligible but is uncertain what exactly he would get - the descriptions say upgrade - does this preclude a clean install on a new disk?

Also hes been told that the student licence allows install on two machines?

Anyone actually bought from these people and able to confirm what you get?

(I told him that linux was a better buy but he needs win7 for his course)

Hi Mark,

I have bought a copy of MS office from these - which just authenticates.

I also bought Adobe CS creative suite from them which requires activation by email with Adobe - if you aint a bonafide student you wont get the authentication.

You get the cd's delivered direct to you and dependent on the package and authentication process - thats it

Delivery took about a week

you basically get the disks with no packaging mine works fine you should get both versions as everything is heading towards 64 bit.

Thanks,

Wayne, so you do only get the single version 32bit or 64? I suggested 64bit, but he wants to put it on two machines and one will only be 32 bit.

The prices there look keen, but I'm not sure that he couldn't do better if the retail pack includes 32 and 64. (assuming that the student licence does allow two installs)

I think I'll tell him to get confirmation from the college about what the student licences actually allow.

Hi,

you only get the bare dvd with either version that is ordered ie: order 32bit and get the 32bit dvd, no box, no paperwork, however well worth it over paying full price.

I have ordered and gotten 2 versions, the Ultimate and the Pro version both in 32 bit as 64 bit was worthless for my Dual core and P4 pc's.

Also 32bit less painful install for drivers etc.

Mike.

excellent.

thanks mikey

When I bought Win7 upgrade what I actually got was the full retail package because there was some problem with M$ in Europe and upgrades. What I also got was both the 32bit and the 64bit version in the same package. Unfortunately you can only install one of them not both since you only get one key.

If your dad has a dual or triple or quad core pc install the 64bit version, there are no issues with drivers.
