Yes
Just bought a Sandisk SSD off ebuyer. I run W10.

If I try to install W10 on the blank SSD will there be any problems. I have a product ID & an activated install of W10 according to system settings.

Should be straight forward?

Straight forward, your PC has a Microsoft hardware hash and once online it'll verify the installation, job done no keys needed.

Thanks for the quick reply. Backing up my photos email & docs as we speak.

It's very easy - as sharky says, activation will be automatic.

How big is your original drive? You can just clone your drive, you can also download a windows 10 tool to create a bootable disc to reinstall from and it will activate using your original ID.

I have a really slow boot up time on my current W10 install after the big update in November so am planning to install onto a clean SSD hopefully to avoid whatever problem is slowing my current configuration.

Mine was a windows 7, then 8 and now 10.. So is very slow and been about 5 years since its been wiped and cleaned out..

Yeah, successful! I had to disable RAID in the bios & set it to AHCI. This was because of a 32Gb mSATA card that was being used in a RAID configuration. If you don't have this then it should just work. ☺

I have used Sandisk, Crucial & Samsung SSD, I usually take a look at HUKD for any offers, more often than not I end up buying from Amazon UK.

Got a 960Gb Sandisk SSD from Ebuyer with offer code SSD for £133 - keep your eyes open, they often run discounts.

I was thinking that, I use about 250gb at the minute, but have a serious amount of downloads and movies hogging it.

On this machine with just OS + software (data on separate drive) I have 133GB free from 230GB (240GB Sandisk MSATA drive).

120gb is enough to run Windows 10 O/S, I have several PCs and a Hyper-V server using 120gb SSDs. Obviously you need additional storage for user data :)

In small form factor cases I tend to use 2.5" HDD as you can fit 2 in the space of one 3.5" HDD.
