Will this lens work on my Mark II n's?

Sorry but no.

The DC for digital on that lens signifies that it is only suitable for 1.6 crop cameras. Same as the ef-s lenses.

You would need a DG from Sigma which is okay for all sensor sizes.

Hope that helps.

only suitable for 1.6 crop

Not entirely correct. It will work on a 1.3x crop factor but will suffer from vignetting. Stopping down will minimize it but will still be visisble.

It will also work on a 1.5x crop factor so it isnt limited to 1.6 only.

Not digging, just saying,...

King.

EDIT: Were my samples tempting you Mr Diego?

LOL!
I was waiting for this. :p ;)

I assumed that mechanical vignetting would be something we all would want to avoid.

AND.... He has a Canon so I wrongly, kept my answer to 1.6 crops. Maybe I should have worded it as '1.6 crops on a Canon fit'?

So. :p :D

I will.... :coat:
(and I know you're not digging;))

Well, I am looking at my entire lens collection and thinking about rejigging it.

I want to move on my 50mm 1.8 and my 85mm 1.8 for something faster, ready for my 2007 caseload but simply have not got the budget for an L which I would love. Not desperate to sell however, until I can replace them.

As you know, my prime is Sigma and I love it, so thought that the 1.4 may be a good interim lens simply for the speed of light.

Could always upgrade the 50mm 1.8 for the 1.4...

If your hoping to shoot at 1.4 don't buy the canon 50mm 1.4 I was disgusted at how soft it was at 1.4, I don't know what other 1.4 option's their is
