Yes
I really like the idea of the new Canon and would buy a Nikon version. Sometimes something small is all I want to carry and this would be the perfect solution. Although it would increase the size I would like to see a tilting screen on the Nikon version.

So is the Canon selling well and would us Nikon users buy into it?

It all depends on how successful the Canon 100D is?

D3200 is about 10% bigger and 25% heavier....if it had a tilting screen that would be acceptable to me but not without.

weight

100D: 407 g
D3200:505 g

100g is not that much heavier.

Size:
100D: 117x91x69 mm
D3200:125x96x76 mm

8mm longer

not that much in it.

In your opinion. Others are free to believe otherwise and see an advantage in being 8mm x 5mm x 7mm smaller and 100g lighter.

And as to the original question... I'd imagine that architectfadi is corrent and that if the 100D is a success there'll be a small Nikon along.

Look at the camera line up from both manufacturers. All cameras have been updated apart from the Nikon D300s and both Canon 60D and 7D?

What Canon brings out next probably will give us an idea if the D300s will be updated

Try looking at the coolpix A, it has the D7000 sensor in a compact body. Sort of a mini dslr
