Wildlife photography - what settings do you use?

To be honest Max there are to many variables to give one answer as such, ISO will obviously depend on light and how well your camera handles high ISO`s. The subject size, colouring, and distance will all play a part in with what settings you end up using as well. Have a look through this section .http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=93 as it might answer some of your questions.

So much depends on the wildlife, elephants you can get away with a slowish shutter speed, Kingfishers in flight less so :D

Always good to carry an Elephant around with you Ken for a WB check :D

For wildlife I just put my camera in Wildebeast mode and it works a treat. I can't remember how to set it up, but it should be in the manual somewhere.

Good laugh chaps, but doesn't the OP deserve a reasonable answer? What may seem obvious to you may be an utter mystery to others.

Max, as others have hinted, your question is hugely wide as without knowing the type of wildlife you wish to capture it is almost impossible to answer. Perhaps the best I can suggest is that you Google "wildlife photography" and spend a deal of time reading the results.

In short, there is no definitive answer to your query, but reading and practice will work wonders.

Best of luck. ;)
