Right...I'm sat here umm'ing and ah'ing about where to go tomorrow...I've now missed the last train over for Donna Nook so am hoping to get somewhere tomorrow morning..my first train is at 6.53am. I don't mind where I go, I just want to spend the day out and about with some wildlife to photograph!

All I ask is, it isn't in Greater Manchester as I've done them all to death ;)

Initial thoughts...Formby for red squirrels, Leighton Moss (any good for photography?) or perhaps Hilbre Island....any input or genius ideas are warmly welcomed :)

Perhaps somewhere a bit further south into leafy Cheshire or Derbyshire?

Leighton Moss will be good, not been for a while but always something to see and only 2 minutes from the station at Silverdale, change at Lancaster.

It's looking very tempting :D Just on the RSPB website, says it doesn't open until 9? My train would arrive at 9.05 which would be perfect :) Good range of sightings too, bittern, otter...

Unfortunately you won't see many, they've been hit by the dreaded squirrel pox.
I was there last weekend and came away without getting one photo.

I'd heard they'd suffered, but didn't think it was that bad :(

Ended up at Leighton Moss...it started out awful, probably due to my 6am awakening  Ended up seeing 2 bitterns (my 1st and 2nd!), which included a bit of a tiff between them :) Photos to come soon!

Really - you are one lucky MoFo - show those pics, show them now !

In good time...in good time :D

Didn't get photos of the tiff, it was part behind reeds and auto focus wasn't having any of it :( Was only a couple of seconds..they were sliding around and everything :D

Fired off a fair few in flights and against the reeds though :)

Oh go on then...one for now...out of focus on his first pass...uncropped at 400mm...unfortunately my best chance gone :( (and the worst photo of the lot hehe)
