As I am typing this I am also watching what appears to be one of those horrid little black cornflies having a stroll inside my monitor between the screen and probably the light, does anyone know how to get rid of the dammed thing as if it dies in there in view I will be drawn to it everytime I turn this on and what really is peeing me off is this is my 3 month old 24" HD monitor grrrrrr

its probably a psocid Pete my best advice is to ( when you) turn off the monitor
leave the light on in the room ( or a spot / table lamp close by)
all insects will migrate to the light
hopefully it will crawl out on its own

you could always try putting something "starchy" in close proximity
( thats what they eat wall paper paste, book bindings etc) might help to entice it out

Cheers Chris will try this tonight ...how long do they live by the way as it hasnt moved for 10 mins

woke this morning to find the beastie still residing in my monitor but its not dead YET" I will get the swine and when I do its gonna get dead:boxer:

good luck my fiancees laptop now has a permenant mark on the inside, its a dead one of these pesky things.

we tried the "Leave a light on" approach but to no avail.

fortunately its only small and to the side so at least its not in the middle of the screen. Suprising how many times I've tried to wipe it off though :D

I had one in my monitor a while back.

It was there one day and gone the next. Must have been a hobo bug....

I have one inside my laptop screen. It wandered around for a while so I tried placing a lamp to one side to try and draw it out, but no, it died right in the middle of the screen and is still there.

I must admit I am lucky as mine died near the corner and only this morning did I try to remove covers on the monitor but it seems to be seam welded lol so just going to let it stay there:lol:
