We have a 10 day holiday booked in Bulgaria this summer, my Sister and husband have a brand new apartment which is situated at the bottom of the Rila Mountains. Just looking at this bit of info http://www.balkantrek.com/eng/holidays/Bulgaria-Rila-Walking.html it has got me wanting to fly out there tomorrow  I was wondering if anyone on here has been to that area at all, any advice would be welcome.

Can't help you with any advice but that area looks beautiful certainly a landscape photographers dream.

Aha my post count is going up after all.....thought either I was going mad or it had got stuck on 2221 for a second :suspect:

*Chuckle* We went skiing there this time last year (borovets) and the only wildlife was rather a lot of nudey clubs & wild dogs!!

That said on the drive up to the mountains we experienced the scenery and it was absolutely stunning, I think you've made a great decision for a holiday!
