Hi all,

I have been thinking of getting a wide zoom for a while and was wandering if anyone has or has used either a Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC HSM or a Sigma 12 - 24 mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG HSM, if so what do you think of them?

Hi, I dont have either of those lenses but I do have the sigma 15-30.
A fantastic lens and one that I would recommend

I've heard mixed reviews of the Sigma 10-20. The 12-24 doesn't take front end filters. Its annoying trying to buy a UWA as the best ones are the Canon EF-S 10-22 and the Tokina 12-24. My 10D doesn't take the 10-22 and the Tokina seems to be available from Hong kong only. I would prefer to buy it from Jessops and try it out. I could get the Sigma 10-20 from Jessops and try it first. Actually I couldn't, 2-4 week delivery time :)

Thats the glitch really. I've not heard a bad thing about the Tokina and I'm sure I'd find it a great lens, but I'm after a wide as lens as possible and the Sigma is wider. But we all know what Sigma can be like and everyone buys the Tokina so no-one really reviews the Sigma.

I've got the Sigma 12-24 EX - it's a fantastic bit of kit and would thoroughly recommend it. Sharpness is excellent and distortion low.

The only downsides I've found are the lens hood interferes with the built-in flash on my D70 - fix: buy a decent flash - and no front mount filters (as mentioned above)

I bought mine on Tottenham Court Road in London after having a good play in the shop.
