try a tokina - apparently they are cheap and excellent :p (the 11-16 is a v. nice lens but cheap it aint)

or the sigma 10-20

but why do you want a wide lens for nature photography - they are for landscapes

Why am i even asking ??? :bang:

I looked for ages and bought a 20-35mm f2.8 L its dicontinuded but a fantastic lens with great reviews and built like a rock.

I got mine at a bargain price and some come up for under £300

Sigma 10-20 or Tokina 11-16 gets my vote - Samyang is supposed to be very good but make sure you know that what you are buying is a manual lens and you will have to set exposure manually. Also bear in mind mustache distortion.

This is just more spam from OP why don't the mods just kick him/her into touch?

I think they probably have - as his/her/its post count hasnt increased since last night

I knew that going in - hence my comment on the tokina being "cheap and excellent" he said that on another thread about their 100mm macro lens - 3 minuites after saying on a different thread that he didnt have a macro yet.

also on this thread last month (prior to suspension for spamming :bang: ) hes saying he reccomends the sigma 8-16mm (do Sigma even make a 8-16mm , if they do its a new one on me ? )

that said theres no reason not to discuss the content - ive not come accross Samyang before - if they are manual focus will they even have an Eos/ef mount (as the canon manual focus cameras were largely FD)

Samyang lenses are well built and cheap, and yes are available in EOS mount. Check out some of the reviews of their lenses on photozone.de

The 14mm is reputedly better than the Canon 14mm and the 16-35mm 2.8L II IQ wise.

Oh and I don't understand the issue with the OP - what is it they are doing wrong?

he's posting crap all over the forums with the sole intention of raising his post count above 100 so he gain access to the classifieds -f you look at his previous posts you'll see that hes putting 'nice pic' on loads of threads, including those that no longer have pictures on them, plus posting ridiculous and contradictory enquiries about lenses

hence 19.36 yesterday " Can anyone reccomend a macro lens for the 550D"

19.39 yesterday "I recomend the tokina 100mm f2.8 , its cheap an excellent"

Its very sad and ultimately futile because even if he does manage to get to 100 posts through those tactics the mods will have already blocked his classifieds access
