Would anyone be able to answer this question for me?

Basically I want some lens, to cover wide landscape and general photos with a cropped canon slr. I think the efs 10-22 f3.5-4.5 is wide enough (no need for the 8-16 sigma). But the lens to accompany this could either be the new efs 15-85 f3.5-5.6 Is, or the 24-105 f4 Is L.

Which one of the two do you think would give me the best combo, as I feel with the efs lens I would be swapping lens less often as most of my general pics seams to be around the wider angles and it gives a better general use range, however I think that it will properly mean that I will only use the 10-22 between 10-15mm to save swapping lens.

However the 24-105 is a L lens so has better build quality and I could use it on a 5d (however that is a few years off really if at all and is not really a factor).

I found the kit 18-55 to not have enough zoom, so that rules out the 17-40 L. My other lens include a 50f1.8, 28-135 f3.5-5.6(which is cheap version of the 24-105 and I've found to be an tricky focal length and have to swap really with the kit 18-55) so I'm looking to sell that on really.
And I've got a 120-400 sigma for long stuff.

Another option maybe to go for a 24mm or 35mm prime to go with my 50mm, along with a 10-22 from canon. however this will mean im changing lens more.

I may be better off with the efs lens as they have been designer for the cropped sensors, however I'm very unsure.

Any thoughs?

fell i would still keep a croped body like a 7d for action shots, plus i dont see myself buying a 5dmk2 at the moment, it will proberly be a 5dmk4 before i can efford to buy one!!!

Does everyone just use zooms for general use then? Or is a couple of primes the way to go, or is it down to the individual?

I use primes mostly.

When going for a zoom if at all possible I'd get one that's f2.8 as it gives you more options than an f4 or variable aperture. Something in the 17-50mm (and f2.8) would be good on APS-C, shame that you don't think that's long enough.
