Hi anyone got any good recommendations for an ultrawide lens to fit Canon? I have various glass at the moment, but nothing wider than 24mm and as I'm on a 30d, it's not full frame so the wider the better.

Have seen:
Tamaron SP 10-24 F3.5 - 4.5
Canon EF-S 10-22 F3.5 - 4.5 USM

Anyone think of any alternatives?

hi mate

i have the sigma 10-20 canon

I tried the canon 10-22 but it just didnt feel good quality.

I get some great results from the sigma 10-20, do a search on here and you will find other peoples results.

Hope this helps

I use a tokina 12-24, much better build then the sigma I think if that's wide enough for you? ;)

Excellent! Thanks a lot, I'll take a look at all of them!

Cheers!

I'm looking at a new lens too, and i've been looking at the Sigma 10-20 and the Canon 10-22. I had a hands on look at them both a couple of days ago and they're both superb, BUT, i did think the Canon had a quieter and smoother focussing action.

When the time comes, i'll be getting the Canon over the Sigma, just because of this mainly, aswell as other reviews i've seen saying go for the Canon, over Sigma if you can afford to, as the Sigma has QC problems.

Same here, I love my tokina brick - awesome build quality!
Mine is also as sharp if not sharper than my Canon 10-22 was
