It's political correctness gone mad. It's ruining this proud country!
 
... And, it seems, this wasn't his first mad charity fund raising effort. Good for him for finding something so off-the-wall to draw attention to his cause. But what next, I wonder?

I believes it's a satirical reference regarding how many posts in the OOF section degenerate into a tirade against imagined Political Correctness.
 
I had to have a good laugh at that idea. What goes through some peoples heads is beyond me lol. I wonder what he would have done if it rolled back down :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It's obvious why.

Sprouts are tough enough to make the climb undamaged, round enough to roll yet irregular enough to stay put during comfort breaks.

Apples and Oranges are simply too large and too round so run the risk of rollback.

A Pea could easily be lost between the stones or succumb to strong winds.

A parsnip or carrot could have seen him going round in circles.

The only possible alternative would have been a smallish new potato but I'd say the lighter sprout would still have the edge.
