Why will Mini Bridge not open

When I click on Mini Bridge in CS5 then 'browse files', I get a message 'Waiting for Bridge CS5' and a wee turning wheel at the bottom left of the screen. This goes on for ever and nothing ever happens. Any ideas what is wrong
