I have an Epson printer and a dedicated 27" monitor. My prints pretty much match what I see on the screen in LR however when I click the print dialog box to show a preview before printing the preview does not represent the finished print (which is fine) in any way. Why is this, have I set something up incorrectly or is it just something I have to live with?
It was exactly the same on my last Epson printer which was an R2400.

When I queried this with Permajet,
I was told "just ignore it" no explanation but I did ignore it and continue to completely ignore how horrible the print preview looks and go on as you do to print just fine maybe someone will come along to explain why it looks so bad, but it won't change anything IMO.

Thanks for your reply shoshone. At least it's not just me and it doesn't really bother me it just seems a bit odd.

I believe the preview is just to show the crop of the image before you hit the print button and burn through ink and paper

I have the same effect on the print preview before printing on the Canon Pro 100S. I ignore that preview and use the soft proofing facility in Lightroom to give me a better idea of what the print might look like.
