Why can't I find lighting kits in stock!!!?

Trying to purcahse my first lighting kit. Taking the advice out of Practical Photography I thought I'd go for either the Elemental M Series Ultra Pro Studio 600 or the Lencarta ElitePro 300W kits - both about £500.

But I can't find anywhere that has them in stock! Any ideas where I can purchase these from or can anyone suggest an alternative?

People panic buying for fear of more price increases perhaps

Some'll turn up, though you might have more luck tracking some Lencartas or Elinchroms.
 
depending on how big your studio is don't overlook the Elemental B-series, I have the Ultra 3 kit and a load more of their gear and it is incredible value for money. The B series lights are plenty powerful enough...

If your set on the M Series give them a call, Danny's very helpful and will at least be able to tell you when they will get new stock...
 
The new Lencarta stock is due to arrive on Saturday. It normally takes a few days to clear Customs, reach the warehouse and get booked in, so all backorders should be sent out by the end of the week.

People keep asking me how much the price increase will be and when it will take place. The short answer is that I haven't been told yet, but my guess is that the prices will go up by Monday (don't hold me to it) and that the amount of the increase will be LESS than the change to the exchange rate.

Orders placed before the prices change on the website will be supplied at the current prices.

I'll update this thread once I know more. Hope this helps.
 
the lencarta will be available from there website, im pretty sure it is www.lencarta.com

Quick update: The prices will change on Monday (4th May). All orders placed before the change will be honoured at the existing prices.

That's the bad news. The good news is that the spec of the 300 heads has been improved. The range of power adjustment has been doubled from 1-1/16th to 1 - 1/32nd and the power of the modelling lamp has been increased from 150 W to 250W.

Everyone who has pre-ordered will of course get the improved kit.

Just a heads up, I'll be selling a 3 light lencarta kit in July, including a background stand and one or two backdrops. :thumbs:

tbh mate I'd have to add it all up, perhaps £300 for the studio lighting gear and £100 for the stand + backdrop... This is only an estimate though, I'll add you as a contact and send you a PM when it goes on sale :)
 
The Lencarta stuff is pretty much in stock now (its clearing customs) - I know that, because I updated the website to say so this morning! From memory, there is something about the old prices and the new prices worth looking at!
 
Quick update.
All Lencarta flash heads are now back in stock and all backorders will be despatched tomorrow.
