Why are flickr charging me???

On me hols but just checked emails and it says flickr have tasken $6.95 from my paypal account.

They have never charged me before in the year or so I have been on there so why start charging me now, Last uploaded some pics last month and only have 300 or so pics on there so not over my limit.

Had a quick look on my phone but cannot see anything un toward
 
If they've never taken money from you before why would they even have your payment details? The only things they take money for are the Pro, ad-free and "doublr" account upgrades and I think those are billed as Yahoo anyway. $6.95 is too low an amount for any of those things too.

As above it's probably a scam e-mail, check your actual PayPal account to be sure.

Do not follow the link through the email, basically it's a false site made to look like paypal, you enter your email and password and voila, the scammers have your login details. If you have followed the link the immediately change your paypal credentials :)
 
$6.95 is what they charge for 3 months Pro account.
Could you have signed up for a free trial etc. and had to give payment details which you should have cancelled if you did not want to carry on with the Pro at the end of the trial?

I thought there was no 'Pro' account now? The 'paid' accounts they do are more than $6.95.

Checked my email again and its definitely from paypal and the payment was to Yahoo for a pro flickr account, for the total of $6.95 which in real money was £4.63.

Now I have never signed up to a pro account either before or after all the changes to flickr so this is a little strange, I have looked on flickr but cannot see how to change it any ideas??

Over to the far right, beside the search bar, hover over your avatar. A box will pop up, which includes settings. You can manage your subscription in there.

Sounds like you opted in for a free pro trial and never cancelled.
 
Ok managed to have a look through flickr, they do not make it easy do they?

I for some reason unbe known to me had signed up for a pro account, why would i do that I do not use the free to the full potential, anyway managed to sort it and cancel it. Apparently there is no pro account anymore BUT there is an add free account which costs you $6.95 for 3 months.

They offered a 'pro' account free a while back I recall, but you had to give payment details. I already had one so no consequence... could be this?
 
Well cancelled the "pro" account which is just add free now and received the money back into my paypal account this morning.
