black and white film ?

is there anyone in Kent ( or who can get here ) who would like to try black and white film ?

this would be for someone who has no idea about film but would like to have a go

it will be a basic intro in taking developing and printing b+w film ,

i can take a max of three people ( due to the fact that i can only develope three rolls of film at a time )

so , an earlyish start with a trip out ( Canterbury or Whitstable ? )an hour or so to have a walk around together to take 36 pics each

back to my place where you will have a chance to load a roll of film onto the dev reel ( using expired film i have )

go through the developement process

print a picture in the darkroom

scan the negs onto a disc ,,,then send you home

it will be a fairly long day

if you have any experience of film this is not for you as you may not gain anything from it
you do not have to have used a film camera before ,

if at the end of the day you have learnt anything from it and have enjoyed yourself ,you can make a donation for materials ,,

i can do any day from the first to the sixth of march

please let me know if you are interested and what day.

but will anyone be interested i wonder ?

 about bloody time YOU taught us something, fed up of explaining to you how to turn that digital camera on :p

Seriously though, what a great offer. For those of you that don't know Andy, he is a lovely chap, slightly mad [probably all those chemicals he hangs around with] and you will have a brilliant day.

what she said

great idea, I'd run one but not got enough 35mm bodies atm lol

absolutely fantastic idea.

I would have loved to go; the printing will be new. And there is always something for me to learn.....But I am very far away....about 2 hours drive.....

P.S : We are getting the garden redone; and as a part of that putting up a big shed. Have to set up a dark room in one corner of that

Worth putting on the main TP forum as well if you haven't already?

Great idea btw. I'd love to have a go at developing but probably can't get over to Kent to try it out!

What a belting idea this is... I'd urge anyone within a sensible area of the OP to get in contact and have a go. If I was just down the road (as opposed to halfway up the country) i'd be signing up like a shot - though I shoot plenty of film, dev my own BnW etc. i'd probably be interested in things just to get back into the Darkroom and printing something - just for old times sakes. Well done for offering Andy :clap::clap:

Laurence ,,you are no 1
Jon ,if you think you can get a train to Sittingbourne station for about eight ,,,,

David I can lend you bodies, SLR's Canon Nikon, Olympus, Pentax available.

Or I can manage rangefinders if you prefer.

thats a helluva offer but I've been reccying exactly what we do and don't have knocking around and there is enough for a 35mm body each for 4 people and thats a pretty good number in our darkroom :D

have you a prefered day Laurence ?

thanks to Bob and Laurence for some fine company .and the mark shows up in my pics Bob ,,( 14 mm lens ) dont know if they can be taken apart and cleaned ????
