No
as the question says really, I've had this on my computor for a while now and have dabbled with it, and got a few nice results, just wondered if any of you found this a good program to use for PP?

I'm yet to put the Canon imaging software on the computor yet, as I haven't really been doing alot of PP on my pics yet, so far GIMP has done what I've wanted to do to the pics, But I will have to download the canon software i think and have a go with it and compare the two

I've used Gimp, its okay, and if you are feeling really brave, you can program your own scripts to do stuff - scary.
it has lots of plugins and scripts available.

Canon's DPP is a different type of program. Much more centered around basic organisation and raw conversion IMO. When I used GIMP, I would use DPP as a raw converter then process the tiff's or jpg's in GIMP (there are raw converter plugins for GIMP, but I never got them to work), with organisation done in picasa. For an entirely free set of software it served me pretty well for a while.

Now I use lightroom instead, it does almost everything in one package. I still go back to GIMP sometimes if I need to do something involving layers (which lightroom doesn't do).
