Hi All,

Since I joined this forum in 2011, the raison d'être for me has always been aviation photography. I've gone from budding amateur to, well, seasoned amateur but have had some great opportunities to work alongside some of the historic scenes most prolific operators and been airside at some great airshows such as Flying Legends, capturing the people as well as the aircraft. In 2017, along with 2 close friends we launched an online publication, The Vintage Aviation Echo, and last year, we took it to print with Volume I - 6 of us in total, all working around our home lives.

So - I’d just like to share a labour of love that I’ve been working on with a small team over the last couple of years, as I thought it may be of interest to some on the forum, as we're trying to show off the best photography we can find for each subject in a large, A4 sized premium magazine (or coffee table book!) which draws on some of the most compelling stories in Vintage Aviation. We focus exclusively on the preservation scene, and Volume II features a great selection from Mikael Carlson on the Fokker Triplane all the way to the Martin Mars water bombers that were recently retired in Canada, told over 368 pages of heavyweight paper. The magazines are limited in number and we have already sold out of Volume I.

We’ve aimed to marry in depth, long form writing with the best images of each subject available, and sympathetic layout and design that really makes it stand out from the mainstream publications - Those familiar with historic car magazines such as Magneto or The Road Rat should feel right at home! We've used industry leading photographers such as John Dibbs and Bradley Wentzel blended with reportage style photography from guys like George Romain and our own, amazing, 21 year old graphic designer Oliver Stevenson. It really is an eclectic mix of great photography and being able to lay it out in a manner that tells the story brings me great pleasure.

Anyway - the price is £20 per copy and £5.80 postage, but we are offering £2 off for forum members using a very imaginative “TalkPhotography” discount code. See https://www.vaemag.com/ for more information (I've cleared this with Admin and now fully paid up as an advertiser!). There's also a small preview pane on the website, here: https://www.vaemag.com/preview-volume-ii

Below are some images of Vol II and a glimpse at the contents of the magazine. If people are interested I can share some of personal images used in the magazine?
