Probably a few people bored of seeing this but couldnt find anything in the search.

Toying with adding a BD to my elinchrom rangers for location stuff (sports portrature im planning and a few other bits).

So the maxisoft dish is available in white/silver.

Silver Im expecting will produce harsher light than the white.

Is there anyone who can give more in depth feedback (perhaps someone who owns both).

Any help would be great.

I have both. I can't speak for Elinchrom, but this should apply regardless of make.
The silver ones produce a harder, more specular light that's ideal for models with good complexion as well as good bone structure. The also output .7 stop more light.
The white ones are slightly more forgiving, although of course the skin and makeup still needs to be pretty good. See this page on the Lencarta Learning Centre

Thanks Garry.

As some of the models will be female/male sportsmen obviously they wont allways have the best skin so probably a white one will be the better choice.

I would hopefully still have enough grunt outside even if the white dish does loose nearly a stop of light.

Lencarta do a grid ive been told can be modded to fit the elinchrom one aswell :D
