White background

I am trying to create a professional looking photograph(s) for items i am thinking of selling on ebay. For this I want to have the items on a white background. At the moment i have managed to do it but using more software and not much in the way of photographic skills.

I am using a Panasonic DMC TZ10 compact and i have a white, light tent but no specialist lighting.

Any tips would be welcome
