Hi

I want to create an website to showcase and sell images. Must have the usual features - galleries, image sales, slideshows, watermarking, easy to use and maintain.

I like a minimal, stylish look, with careful use of Flash (not too much).

Which would you recommend, Photium, Clickpic, PhotoBiz, etc. ?

Thanks in advance.

Not much response here but thought I'd update the thread for others.

I have narrowed it down to 2 (with a 3rd option lurking in the wings).

I have begun trials with IFP3 and Photium as these both seem to have the functionality that I need.

"IFP3", at around £10/mth has unlimited image upload, private login galleries for clients, though at present it doesn't look and feel as good as the Photium site.

"Photium" charge £8/mth (300 images) or £17/mth (2k images), but you need to got to £17 to get private login galleries:thumbsdown:.

I think I like the look and feel of Photium's site more, but will work with both to see if I can get them how I like them. I will make a decision in the next couple of days and report back - hopefully with a link.

All I'll need then is some decent images to upload

PS Nearly forgot....the THIRD WAY...."Photbiz" have integrated some interesting order fulfilment packages that require a bit more research but they want a total of $250 setup fee, though they charge a reasonable £8 or so per month.

Decisions, decisions:bonk:

I use Photium and have been very happy with it. Uploading is fast, the site is very customisable, and downtime - well there just hasn't been any.

This is reassuring - anyone have any experiences with other providers?

I'm looking forward to seeing a link in the next few days. I'm half way through building a site to do something very similar.

Still a bit of a way from finishing it but if you have a quick look you should get an idea of what I'm trying to do.

Good luck with yours.

You can buy a site from £50 to £200, hosting is £50 for the year, it's "unlimited" bandwidth, unlimited emails, galleries, feature galleries (depending which template, some has unlimited galleries), client proofing section, shopping cart (linked to paypal), even videos, the site can be tailored to your liking, you can change font, colours and logo, but the layout is pretty much what you get.

This is mine.

VERY happy with it :)

Thanks to everyone for your advice and links - there are some really great sites out there from TP'ers.

I have decided to start out with Photium as this seems to tick most of the boxes.

Will post URL when I have something to show.
