Hi,

I've just brought a D80 and now need to look for a general walkabout lens for £200 or less.
I'm trying to decide between the ones listed below (all currently available second hand in my price range)

NIKON AF-S 18-70mm F3.5-4.5 G ED
Nikon 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 G AF-S DX IF-ED
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens
SIGMA 17-70mm 17-70 , F2.8 HSM MACRO

Any thoughts would be great or suggestions of alternatives

Cheers
Darren

PS: I currently have a 18-55mm kit lens on my D40 but would like sell that along with the D40 in the near future, I also have a Nikkor 70-300mm vr lens for my motorsport and wildlife photography.

I really rate my 18-70. I think its a cracking bit of glass for the money.

But the Sigma 17-70 might be the best bet.

I also rate the Nikon 18-70, for the money its a great little lens but I believe the Sigma 17-70 is top quality as well.

Bought A 17-70 Sigma off here a couple of months back and its a cracking walk about lens

18-70:thumbs:

Another vote for the 18-70mm here, excellent lens for the money

Thanks for the advice folks.
Just won a Nikon 18-70mm on the bay
Makes sense as I now have 18-300mm covered, don't think I'm experianced enough yet to gain from F2.8 lenses, so passed on the Sigma.
