Which strength of ND Filter

Hi,
I want to be able to shoot at around F2 on a bright sunny day with a Sigma 50mm on a 5D2.

How many stops of light do I need to block do you think? Or does it depend on other factors? I was going to 64x which I believe is = 6 stops.

I dont particularly want to shoot waterfalls and long exposure stuff, its more so I can retain the DOF.

I may be wide of the mark with my calculations here but I'll try.

On a sunny day the rule of thumb is f16 at shutter speed equal to your ISO so ISO100 = 1/100th.

I'm guessing you'll want to shoot at ISO100 so f16 to f2 is 6 stops which would give you a shutter speed of 1/100th at f2 with 6 stops of ND.
