Hi, I am hoping that you could help me to chose a decent company to print a photo-book for me. The photos are of a wedding I did for a family friend. they now want a modern style photobook rather than the old conventional style and that can live on a bookshelf rather than in a box in the attic after a month or so.
I use a Mac and have considered the Apple one which is supposed to be really good quality but have a limited range of page templates. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm after doing one on blurb for tech, it was very good quality, but I picked all the top options cost me enough

Their software is book smart or something

Another vote for blurb, super easy to knock out in Lightroom (especially vs booksmart. Can get expensive though at standard options - I paid £58 for 240 pages in standard landscape. You can find 25% discount codes easily on the web. Quality was amazing and worth every penny!!

If you mean coffee table style books I have had loads done at Loxley & have been very happy (as well as the client) with the quality and their excellent customer services. They still do the half price on subsequent books from the same order which makes them well priced and allows for a healthy margin.

hmm i order one from blurb just on standard paper... the images i used were not that high rez so i made the photos pretty small on the page and the software said it was fine,

when it came the edges where like over sharpened and not smooth like a staircase and one of the pages where stuck 2gether where it had got wet or ink was not try or something

so not really over the moon

apple photo books are reaaly nice (unsuprisingly) but i think you can only do them with a Mac

I used blurb a couple of times and the quality was good but then discovered Albelli which I have found far better and there is a current offer of £15 discount off first order

I've used Blurb for a few years now. The books are excellent and the 'booksmart' software is pretty decent too. Not the best, but pretty useful and easy to use.

I have had problems with 2 books in the past, where the pages started to come out and I queried with Blurb both times, then sent pics in as proof and they replaced each book without question.

I will continue to use Blurb.

As a side, I saw a photobook in jessops believe it or not and the spine, once opened, lay flush with the pages, so no 'cavity' as it were (does that make sense?). The pages and colour was VERY good also. I was told it was better to obtain the softwre disc in store, so you can load it onto your computer, rather than use their software online. I haven't used this software or book though.

I found with booksmart I could place photos in the same place on the page over other software
I just it easy to use more straight forward

Top blurb options or thereabouts, sweet albums. Plus if there's a problem they reprint at no cost and quickly. Only issues I've had is with fedex trashing a few albums, but that can happen with any delivery service and Blurb have always sorted it fast.

I've only used Albelli, so can only comment on them. Having said that, I have no reason to try anyone else as the quality of Albelli's books has so far been superb! Incidentally, they've currently got a very good promotion on their large and XL large books, but you have to buy the voucher by 8th October, so be quick!

+1 for blurb. There aftersaales is spot on. I have had about 30 blurb books done over the years and also sell books through there book store.
