Looking at Photoshop CS6, PaintshopPro, DXOPhotolab, Luminar 4, Affinity Photo, and others.

Do they all require a lot of tweaking for all but the most simple edge conditions ?

Which would you choose ?
 
Topaz Mask AI is probably the most effective. I used Topaz Re-Mask 5 previously and that was good but did require some tweaking.
