Which one to buy? - Digital

Hello, Merry Christmas !!

I'm looking to buy a compact digital camera and don't really know the differences or what to look for.

I know I want a long zoom, to get in close from far away... I know I want at least 5 or 6 mp.

I only want to spend up to bout £150 ??

So, if anyone can help me and point me in the right direction or give me some options that would be great and much appreciated? Thanks

Hiya jonesy, welcome aboard. Most of the compacts around that price point don't have a really long telephoto lens unless they enhance it digitally.

Nikon Coolpix S10 might suit though, if you can still get it, one of last years models.
 
Thanks... it hasn't got to be extremely long. Maybe like the length of your average school hall ??

What about the Fuji S5700 10x zoom 7mp and can be had for around £100 right now as the S5800 is out and the only difference is that its 8mp

I think I might go for the Fuji S5700. Does anyone know if it comes with a memory card? Do any digi's come with memory cards?

My daughter has my old Fuji S5500 with 10x optical zoom. Although 3mp a fantastic little number. A later version (more of those mega pixies) should give you the zoom you need.
 
I'd recommend the Fuji Finepix S6500fd.. Asda price at the moment £149.00

Thanks for everyones help. I went and got a fuji S5800 today, it's wicked and does exactly what I wanted. It was a great price too... plus my student doscount.
