Hello everyone:thumbs:

Im picking a camera for my sister,Its a birthday+xmas present which i will know she will like,Ive picked out three so far

Panasonic DMC TZ5
Panasonic DMC FZ8
Sony DSC-W300

Im going to spend £200 max:)

So what will she use it for, mainly for when she goes away on her hols with her kid which is twice a year summer and winter time.

I guess she will want one thats going to be good for indoors as well as outdoors and at night time,So a good flash is a must saying about flash ive been reading about shutter times&sensors and it looks like she would need to have a good one for flash shots???

Well thats all i think she wants one for:)

EDIT:Ive now read for indoor shots you need a good iso,So thats going to be important in picking the right camera for my sis.

Hi papa, i dont know if this is of any help to you, i had the Panasonic fz18 for a while and i did not find it that brilliant unless the light was really good also i found the quality of shots taken inside could sometimes be a bit dissapointing.
Whether this is the same through the fz range or whether it was my inexperience i cant say but it may be worth thinking about when making your choice.
Good luck, Pete

Thank you for telling me about the FZ18,I read some reviews of the FZ8 and its quite good so maybe its the 18 thats a let down,Before i get it for her i want to make sure i got the right one for her needs.

I dont think she would be bothered about recording video as she has a video camera for that.

try the new FZ28, which has had better reviews on the superb FZ18.
the only thing it cant do is nightclubs, but if steer away from that type of lighting, you should be ok.

the TZ5 is now out of date and being replaced with a I think a TZ7, you would get a TZ5 for under £200 staples had them in 2 weeks ago at £199, most of the online dealers havent got any left, am not sure how much the new TZ7 will be?
