I've been looking at getting one of the new 35m 1.8's for my D200. Anyone got any personal experience or alternative suggestions?

I had the 35 f/1.8G and it was great, good performance wide open and I don't think it ever failed to focus first time, even in poorly lit enviroments.

I've got the 35mm on my D60. Its so good that the kit zoom lens seems really terrible now, like putting on a pair of glasses from 10 years ago. Its also has the advantage of being very small and light.

I've got the sigma 30mm already which was great for my D40x as it has the HSM, but seems a little heavy now with the D200.
I wonder if its worth changing?

Sigma 24mm f/1.8 is an incredible lens, get a good copy and its silly sharp.

I use a 28 f/2.8. Great lens. Have also used a Sigma 30 1.4, great too but it shorted something on the camera which prevented it reading any lens CPU. Have also used the 35 from Nikon but didn't like it.

These aren't wide on a crop body though, more like a standard. If you want wide then you will be looking more in the 14 and 16mm range.
